Pillar #1: Scoping

This is the planning stage of a project that involves determining and documenting a list of specific project goals, deliverables, features, functions, tasks, deadlines, and ultimately costs. It includes developing the Scope of Work that forms the basis of every commissioning, qualification or validation project.

Pillar #2: Budgeting

Budgeting includes the development of detailed cost estimates and forecasts, against which expenditure is to be tracked and recorded. A comprehensive budget provides pharmaceutical project management teams with an understanding of how available funds will be utilized and disbursed over the duration of the project.

Pillar #3: Controlling

This includes control of the project scope, the compilation and maintenance of project schedules, as well as:

  • Participation in PHAs, FMEAs, and HAZOPs
  • Change management
  • Risk assessments
  • SOP development
  • Submittal review
  • Engineering work plan, monthly reports.
